Advanced Robot have helped us transition onto the automated milking system with impressive results. The team has a clear understanding of how the whole system needs to work, from the cow and her health right through to the robot settings. The cows are healthy and performance is terrific.
Feeding the dairy cow - yeasts
The dairy cow diet requires yeasts to maintain a healthy rumen, critical in delivering milk yield and overall cow performance. With independent research and testing, our team will help select proven live yeasts. It’s important to ensure that the product delivers the maximum number of live yeast cells to the digestive track of the animal.
If you herd suffers from conditions such as acidosis, yeasts can be used to help balance the rumen pH.
Triggers of acidosis may include:
- High levels of fermentable carbohydrates
- Finely chopped forages
- Poorly fermented forages
- Low levels of structural fibre
- High concentrate use
- Spring grass
